Old Halo, COD, also it doesn’t even have to be right or left wing. Right wing and non political are always better than left wing

What game

Those are good games

Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

Old halo? Ok. Let’s start there. Specifically Halo CE through 3 from bungie. You’re telling me that that’s a conservative game. Ok. Let’s see if that holds up. Prior to ever encountering the covenant, the Unified Earth Government sends the UNSC to crush a rebellion in the outer colonies to maintain control over those colonies resources and profits. They do this by kidnapping fucking children and turning them into super soldiers. You play as the victim of that.

Gray Morality, performativism, forced diversity, etc etc. and by forced diversity I mean the new halo games thinking it makes sense for the majority of the force to be female

upvote -11 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #1 19h

Let’s keep going. Additionally, the UNSC has a literal secret censorship police called the ONI. They heavily censor information and free speech to maintain control over the colonies. Obviously, the capitalists are the Good Guys here. Conservative game, huh?

Old halo is fighting off invading evil aliens with a strange religion led by a false prophet

upvote -2 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

Gray morality? That’s just how life is sometimes. Performativity? Going to need more specifics than that. “The majority of the force being female” is in fact in line with the human population, there are slightly more women than men in the world. I’m really not sure what you mean by this though given that I haven’t played the new halo games

Gray morality objectively makes games less fun to play

Then the covenant and Arbiter enter the equation. Halo 2 and 3 are released around the time of the war on terror. This is where it gets much more complicated. The Arbiter was literally originally meant as a direct allegory for islam, down to originally being named the Dervish, for commentary on how religious zealots manipulate people through DIFFERENT means. The covenant being a theocracy plays into that too. Simultaneously, the UNSC are controlling ITS people through surveillance…

And censorship. Down to listing dead spartans publically as MIA to preserve the image of the Exceptional Soldier. Sound familiar - the exceptional soldier? Heard it in recruiting ads? I have. So does that sound like a … PRO UNSC story? Or does it sound like commentary on how NOBODY is handling anything correctly? And quite frankly - did you even fuckin PLAY the games? Because “evil aliens false prophet” is a LAUGHABLY stupid interpretation of the stuff the game literally shoves in your face

So OP, genuine question. You listed two first person shooters as examples of good games. Then, an episodic adventure game, then story based action adventure, then new halo (fucking FAIR), then fantasy roleplay. it… seems you like first person shooters. Have you ever played a woke one? the. the enemy is the nazis. and the game does not sanitize shit about what the nazis believe in or stand for. y’know - right wing stuff. and it’s not exactly subtle about who is in the wrong. the first cutscene of wolf II, the one i’m playing rn, is a flashback to your racist texas father going on an antisemetic rant against your jewish mother, knocking her out, choking you out for talking to a black girl, and forcing you to shoot your dog.

upvote 4 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

i mean sure you could view it that way if you strip away the context that the enemy is exclusively aryan and you’re literally on the side of the minorities and oh also in this universe the american government caved - not terribly hard in the era of jim crow - so a good portion of the nazis are Americans eager to join the cause (reminds me of a certain push to join a three-letter organization that rounds up immigrants right now from the right).

upvote 6 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 19h

Yes. If you completely fucking ignore the entire plot of the game, the context of the universe, the cutscene, the real historical reality of how America felt about the nazis prior to pearl harbor, and what the Nazis actually believe. You can call it a game about fighting off objectively evil foreigners.

ah yes. mario. the game about a benevolent multiracial kingdom of humans, toads, and yoshis being taken over by a highly militarized fascist. who is then stopped by an ordinary plumber rising to the occasion. i know they both start with the same vowel but “8 bit” does not equal “apolitical”

No, see, we’re talking about Wolfenstein. Don’t change the subject. Especially when the biggest issue you have with LiS is that it’s not about blowing a ton of lead through someone’s skull. If you completely ignore everything that makes Wolfenstein, well Wolfenstein, you can frame it as about killing evil foreigners. But that is STUPID, right?

In MW4 (2026) they give some level of sympathy to the North Korean leader… Good villains can have understandable motives and some sympathy and others have none, neither is inherently a liberal or conservative idea. It’s just basic character writing

Life is strange is a masterpiece wtf are you talking about? And it’s not new halo it’s a remake of the original combat evolved, you realize master chief is the only spartan that really is in that game right? Why because at that point most of them are dead, so yes there were both men and women Spartans just master chief is one of the last in the first game and he’s a guy so it focuses on him how in tf is saying yeah most were women woke? If the creators said that’s the lore then that’s the lore

Again tf you mean, there’s no clear story are you larping rn? That tells me you didn’t play the game because the story is very clear and no it doesn’t show her actions as sympathetic a lot of Chloe’s actions are seen as bad throughout the series and the antagonist is a fucking serial killer the game doesn’t want you to emphasize with like your just larping
