This logic would have insurance companies denying people for major surgeries because they “didn’t get checked out fast enough” or “ate too much fast food”
If you are an Anti-Vax parent and your kid dies from something a vaccine would have prevented, you should be put on trial for Manslaughter at the very least. Maybe even a murder charge.

Won’t somebody think of the poor insurance companies. If we put this good law in place, they’ll use it for bad stuff!! Okay so arrest the ceos of those companies and have them killed by the state. Problem solved.

It’s generally impossible to prove intent. However, it is possible to disprove ignorance. It’s unreasonable to ignore medical sciences to the degree needed to opt for no vaccinations.

Dude this is not a good law and it opens the door to some even stupider legal theories

I’m sorry bro there has to be punishment if you willfully turn down treatment that could preemptively save your child’s life.

You see the problem here is that it’s only the unlucky anti vax parents who get punished here. The ones whose kids turn out fine will never have an issue. Also how long does this last? Until the kid is 18? 21? 26? 40? 50? It’s just not thoughtful policy

Until the kid is old enough to make their own medical decisions, so that depends on the medical age of consent state by state.

But it’s not the kids fault that the parent didn’t get the vaccine regardless of age? I’m not defending anti vaxxers here by the way. It’s stupid and selfish but criminal prosecution is not a viable answer

If the child is of the age of medical consent they can ask for the vaccine.

There are a significant number of vaccines that must be given at a certain age.

just make it illegal to not give your kids those vaccines if there’s no medical reason not to.
