I’m not saying that, but people like Laken Riley would still be alive if we had better immigration policies. Same reason you have to go through TSA at the airport, they’re not assuming everyone there is a terrorist, they’re just making sure. They objectively are. Illegal inmigrante commit far less crime than legal citizens, and that includes proportional statistics. Here are recent rates from Texas, one of the states with the largest population of undocumented immigrants.

Not that we have a particularly high share of them, especially compared to other countries, but it’s almost as if being a nut job mass murderer is illegal. The difference between citizens and immigrants is that citizens are already born here so we kinda just have to wait and see if they’ll end up being criminals or not whereas with immigrants we can check and see if they already have a record. Which we often don’t do

"per 100,000 persons" means it's proportional. It's per capita. For every 100,000 US-born citizens, on average, 213 commit violent crimes. Have you ever taken a stat class?
