Btw I studied public health policy in university as an aspiring medical student, Americans actually already do subsidize the costs required for universal healthcare through the payments they make for single-payer insurance. The system has been convoluted by middleman insurance companies pushing a fee-for-service model that encourages overpricing to generate revenue for hospital execs

Canada gets bad rap bc you can't pay yourself to the top of an organ donor list. Which is another W since it's def a bad thing that poor ppl won't even be considered here
