Less bad just delays the downfall of our country until the next Republican administration decides to take our debt and social services simultaneously. Then dems come around, do nothing to fix what’s broken, then sit idly by why the right destroys it more

Ice deportations were happening under democrats. Painting the democrats in this light as the one thing holding us back from the onslaught of MAGA fails to recognize how democrats have helped to fuel MAGA. If democrats actually fought for us in the first place, MAGA wouldn’t be so popular among the working class. Great book I highly recommend

Also the ratchet affect is extremely apparent and forms a feedback loop. Democrats fail to support working class -> right wing politician court working class over cultural issues by sewing division -> politics shift rightward -> dems adopt “middle path” strategy, playing moderator -> the “center” shifts right -> dems refuse to take progressive stances bc it’s against strategy -> repeat We see this with abolish ICE becoming reform ICE. Their position is they wanna make Nazis do their job better.
