Anyone who unironically believes America is as bad as Nazi Germany doesn’t know history.

If you’re unable to see the parallels between this administration and the Nazis rise to power, you don’t know history

The point of this post was that Nazi germany copied many of their methods and ideas from what the USA did to black people and native Americans. And now the modern USA is repeating what Germany did.

I think you’re missing the point that waiting for America to get as bad as nazi germany is also bad. Like they’re using the same playbook. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity

Ik argue the play book the Trump regime is taking is way more close to that of fascist Italy rather than Germany. But they are still going down an evil path I’m not denying that.

Jan. 6th was the bier hall putsch. ICE is the gestapo. The state claiming that a specific group of people within the state, and everyone outside the state are to blame for the problems the state faces. The state removes scientific leadership in favor of partisan political figures. The state goes and conducts foreign military operations claiming to be “liberators” Both nazi germany and maga America did this

The big difference is how long it took Hitler to get full power and the way legislators is acting rn and Trump is more of Italian fascist. America also doesn’t rlly have the same fascist path is either tho. Every fascist movement is different as it’s a national movement not international. Like Neo-Nazis are just fatass larpers

I mean if you wanna get technical about how the state is structured I see your point. But in the end I think it’s moot when we’re doing the same things just on an accelerated time frame

Nazi Germany was more extreme but they got the idea of Jews not being citizens from what we did to native Americans, got their anti-miscegenation laws from us, got their Lebensraum from our manifest destiny, and were inspired by our eugenicists

Arguing semantics is a moot point when the analogy is obviously being used (essentially) to get people to open their eyes to the fascism that is happening. Americans don’t know shit about Italian fascism, so comparing America to fascist Italy, for most people, would be entirely ineffective, but everyone knows about WWII. There are things happening that are analogous enough that it’s not even a huge reach, even if there is a slightly better comparison.
