IMO this whole “sin of empathy” business is just an attempt to rationalize the sociopathy of their policies through projection. “I lack empathy & I’m great, therefore empathy is undesirable in general”

I mean caring about others does have evolutionary benefits for the group as a whole. So communities with those genes probably persisted.

So caring about others is in our evolutionary DNA but for the most part animals don’t care about ethics.
