A benevolent dictator is the ideal form of government. But a benevolent dictator cannot truly exist. Because all humans are fallible. Either they get greedy, or they mean the best but get something wrong, or they are manipulated by those around them. So we can’t have a benevolent dictator, because it will swiftly become just a regular dictator.
Because as soon as they die there is a phase of multiple different people/groups vying for power, and even if another one comes in who upholds your values and way of life there was still a likely very bloody struggle for power that severely damaged or outright ended the lives of many people.
You can be moral without religion. If you need the threat of eternal damnation from G-d, you’re not a good person. Side note, I also subscribe to a modern approach to religion, I don’t personally believe in G-d, but I follow teachings and traditions, which apply today with modern interpretations.
Please just go back and read the initial comment it will clear this up. A dictatorship that doesn’t uphold ur values is bad for you correct, but so is a democracy that doesn’t. I’d rather have a dictatorship that upholds mine. I place little value on democracy because it is more fickle.
