I mean you can be mid argument with someone even if you started it and they’ll be out here making claims with zero evidence. It doesn’t become your burden to provide evidence to disprove it just bc you started the argument, it’s theirs to provide evidence that supports their claim

In philosophy, this is literally what it means. Like in a religious debate, the burden of proof lies on the person claiming the existence of a deity, not the one denying or doubting it.

Exactly. I have a feeling we’re all sitting at negative votes bc this is exactly what op is doing. They made some wild claim, someone asked for proof, and they said “Nuh uh you gotta prove it’s wrong you started it”
