The fact that the DOJ has removed experience requirements for new attorneys and replaced them with “political alignment with president trump” is incredibly concerning. For the first time in history, the government explicitly values loyalty over merit.

Yeah but they didn’t send out memos actively removing the experience requirements, so new hires at least had merit. Either way, explicitly saying you care more about loyalty than merit shows how fucked our country is. We shouldn’t justify ts because “someone before did it not quite as bad”

Did they actively announce that they value loyalty to Jackson over merit. Regardless, reverting back to Jacksonian era government is NOT a good thing 😭
