Real question, why do conservatives hate the thought of life being better for everyone? Yes you should work hard for things that aren’t essential (mansions, vacations, luxury cars, etc) but why the fuck do people need to work hard to eat and have shelter?

Superiority complex, no other way to feel good about themselves for having the bare minimum since most republicans are also struggling to keep their heads above water and too prideful to get help

Also there are people who DO work hard and cant afford basic things. You never know someone’s circumstances. Truth is, conservatives will withhold food from 100 people in fear that just 1 of them is “undeserving”, while left wing people will feed 100 to satisfy the need of 1

Because they’re simply mean people who are surrounded by and have others enforce and justify their evilness

There are studies that show people feel like they have more based on comparison more than their actual material circumstances. As a result, they’re rather everyone else have less so they feel like they have more.

Buddy I’m rich as fuck. I just don’t want others to benefit from my hard work because they could never be as productive as me anyways

There’s a major disconnect here—you don’t seem to understand that poor people work very hard too.

Here’s the difference. They’re stupid. I’m not. If hard work guaranteed success, the donkey would own the farm. Working smarter and harder is the key.

I work smart and hard for my money, as does my fiancé. We both are still devastated by everything going on with SNAP and other government assistance. It’s also incredibly demeaning to the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of government workers currently in need of those benefits despite working harder than the rest of us because they’re not getting paid, and haven’t gotten paid in over a month now

They’re also probably not smarter with money, just luckier

Keep telling yourself whatever bullshit you need to continue feeling secure in your ivory tower. That the rich somehow deserve their wealth is a self-serving lie pushed by the wealthy. The meritocracy is a verifiable lie. with just the zip code of your birth, I can accurately predict your future tax bracket. You got lucky and tell yourself it’s informed by your own merit so you can sleep at night as your peers starve. History will treat you no differently than a parasitic feudal lord.

I would also question whether or not your disproportionate wealth suggests “They’re stupid. I’m not.” Have you maybe considered that whatever means you’ve stooped to in amassing your wealth have proven morally reprehensible to your “stupid” peers? Building credit to take out a loan, rent a property, and then rent additional properties doesn’t take some unheard of genius. You just need be an unprincipled shell of a human that’s comfortable with leeching the hard-toiled earnings of others.
