a lot of it he did not in fact start himself. he started with apartheid money, growing up from apartheid money, then bought his way into things where he hired smart people to do some stuff, and then went into businesses where he got fuckloads of government money to keep him afloat. teslas been overvalued to hell forever, i mean that one is just absurd, spacex is just nasa money but given to elon because what the hell he can make profits with it fuck everyone else

100% agree that Tesla is overvalued but for some reason it’s all included in his net worth. The talk about Apartheid money is not enough to discredit how much he has grown his companies. Like yes he did grow up upper-middle class but that is a tiny step in his full picture and was not essential in his full story Also getting gov aid is so normal bc everyone gets it nowadays ya know?

upper middle class? emerald mine in a slave country is upper middle class? buying your way into companies is upper middle class? and its not "everyone gets government aid", his entire life is government aid. tesla? government money. the dumbass tunnels? government money. spacex? government money. none of "his" businesses would exist were it not for the public sector allowing him to take its money and use it for his private profit.

man you have to be intentionally dumb the way you do not comprehend that the government money elon musk has received, even if you scaled down his businesses to match small businesses, would be several orders of magnitude larger. adding several digits. the electric car industry? kept alive by subsidies PRE COVID. hell, half of teslas revenue is abusing the shit out of carbon credits for more free money from the government

It’s a regular thing for large companies that are important to receive massive gov aid. Boeing received 15 billion, ford received nearly 8 billion, and more. Elon receiving this just shows that his company is just that important to the future of tech that the gov wants to aid him to do so

Is what you say just how you feel or can you back it up with facts? A quick google search shows that ford has gotten way more than Tesla ever has and it just shows me that you’re talking fm feelings rather than truth. Success in a capitalist country means that it is built with public money. That is how it works. Our gov can invest in companies and do this regularly
