Congress insisted their $170k salaries were too little, yet they tell us our starvation wages are too much to bear? If I catch y’all voting for these deep-state politicians I’ll enter your walls and fuck you worse than these gas prices.

It’s not too little to survive. It’s just too little to attract and retain top talent. Ofc people shouldn’t go into politics to just make money, but when a 1st year (straight out of college) in investment banking makes more than a Senator, it’s a tough sell People have bills to pay… wife… lifestyle

Yeah, so how about equalize the playing field instead of letting ppl in fields like investment banking and finance use insane number of tax loopholes to bypass paying any taxes (like Trump did for like 10 years between 2000-2015)

Not even IB. MBB consulting pays $130K for fresh grads. After 2 years, it’s like $200K. After a decade, you’re making $700K $170K as a senator just isn’t compelling at all

No one cares if they make less than an investment banker. Do you hear yourself? If they were forced to make the same as the median personal income (45k a year in the U.S.), they’d raise our pay real fucking quick.
