I mean I don’t think anyone truly believes the should just be handed free everything. The idea behind free or affordable is more so when discussing basic human needs. Food, water, shelter, healthcare, etc.

So policies that have been tried for decades and literally just don’t fucking work? The fact of the matter is that “free this free that” as you describe it works at improving quality of life and is better for the economy and society as a whole. You’d rather do nothing and make the world worse, than make our country truly great but risk that maybe someone gets slightly more than you personally think they deserve.
