Idk who needs to hear this but religion is all a sham and your life is inherently meaningless. It is up to you and you alone to determine what you want out of life and to go get it. At the end of the day we’ll be in a grave so do what makes you happy

Get some revolutionary optimism, don’t let it get you down! Sure religion is a sham, but we can work to build a better world here during our one life

Religion should only be a supplement to life, it should not control it or be your sole reason for living. Shit i rediscovered religion just for that reason-because there are things that i dont understand and connections my brain cannot hope to comprehend and i will live my life in awe of the spirituality of the world. Religion should HELP you find meaning. It is meaningless on its own

I like how the solution to reality here is to cope and pretend like something has value, which is exactly what religion is alleged to do at the same time

Yeah, let’s just say something that billions of people believe in is all just a sham. People are really gonna take that well.

Religion has created the society you live in and is the base of the morals you call your own. Atheism isn’t a religion, so why are you spreading it like a preacher.

Absolutely! And that’s what I’d encourage people to do. That’s also kinda my point is that we are here for maybe 100 years if we’re lucky so make the most out of it. Do your best to make it a place you’d wanna live for 100 years

It’s just so sad to me to see people give every accolade to god and know that they view their own limited days on this Earth as devoted to a deity who may or may not be real and who if is real is a fucking monster.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you but I want to reframe it. The solution isn’t coping, it’s reflecting on your own desires, goals, and beliefs. I’m talking strictly personally. It’s not about pretending like something is important to the world, it’s about knowing something is important to you

The irony here is that in the reality of no inherent purpose anything you do besides die is digging your head in the sand

Or the impulses of your body

The only inherent purpose of any living thing on this planet or any other is to reproduce

And why would that have any value? Do you see what I mean, in lieu of this reality you reframe it for yourself. Desires, goals, and beliefs to their ends offer no real value, and yet the expectation is to follow them aimlessly and condition the self as though they do. I mean no offense, but this seems as much a sham if not more of a sham than religion, which in your opinion is baseless but does provide end values.

Is that really worthy enough to be purpose or is it rather a drone function?

In a scientific sense, yes, that is the purpose of living things. But in your sense no, you have to give your own life purpose. In your own definition would your purpose being to worship a deity not also just be a drone function rather than real purpose?

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. Religion in an organized form to give people meaning is a sham. If you search yourself and decide religion makes sense to you and helps you in life then that’s great and you should be free to practice whatever you’d like
