I’m sorry but i’m so tired of this. We fought for independence and liberation for centuries, shit like this reduces us back to weak hormonal easily manipulated objects. We have autonomy. We can make our own decisions.

I don’t know if you understand that this graphic is the truth. It is incredibly difficult to leave an abusive situation, and these are all real reasons that people stay. The point of abuse is that your autonomy is stripped away in some way.

Also, as someone who stayed in an abusive relationship for a long time, I don’t appreciate the implication that you think I’m a “weak hormonal easily manipulated object”.

What’s so wrong with you that you thought this was a good comment to post? You wouldn’t say something like that in real life, would you?

YOU sound like a child. Your post and comments remind me of political 14 year olds online talking about things they barely have any knowledge on. Women’s suffrage and general fight for equal rights can be acknowledged, real and respected while still acknowledging that women today go through abusive relationships and have trouble leaving for all these listed reasons and more. One doesn’t deny or disrespect the other. Of course women can make their own decisions, but it’s easier said than done -

- when you live with your abuser. Gets even harder and more terrifying when children are involved

subjecting your children to witnessing abuse because you’re too weak to leave is asinine.

No, I don’t think I am. I think I’m just an ordinary person.
