Evangelicals think they can force Jesus to come back if they fulfill prophecy by enabling Israel to deploy nuclear weapons against a United Arab army. The US, at least our leadership, are in an apocalypse cult and use their power to advance that world view.

can anybody explain the whole situation in simple terms? I want to understand why Israel is bad, but everytime I ask the internet just says racist stuff. I know about Israel/ Palestine but I guess I feel like there is a chunk that i’m missing.

I talk about it like it’s a big far off thing, but this is a very normal sort of political position in the US. The reason why the US supports Israel is because older, more religious, American want Jesus to come back and by supporting “the Israelites“ they believe they are contributing to that.

Most Jews live in the US or elsewhere in the world. “The Israelis” were always a minority with a vested interest in pitching Israel = Jewishness and how Jewish people will always been oppressed and need to flee there.

Israel was founded not even 100 years ago as an apartheid ethnostate, on land that was already inhabited by the Palestinians. Ever since then, the Israeli government has enacted a widespread genocide against the Palestinian people which includes destroying infrastructure, targeting civilians, withholding aid, targeting food and medicine, torturing prisoners, and more. And Israel wants to expand their territory even further, so they have been using this tactics in Lebanon and Iran now.
