They did get the ages right. The oldest members of Gen Z are 29 years old born in 1996. They only surveyed Gen Z adults, not the entire demographic.

The guy quoting the stat says “18-39” which is wrong because the screenshot he shared clearly says “18-29”. you are misinterpreting who “the motherfucker” is in this instance and you are both, in fact, correct in what you have said.
