so they did an analysis of the data and the significance disappeared when they controlled for maternal age, which is already associated with higher rates of neurodivergence. the “correlation” is most likely that when you’re older, your joints hurt more.

More concerning to me is their insistence that autism is actually cerebral folate deficiency, a VERY rare disorder, and their push to prescribe leucovorin to autistic children and pregnant women where it is not otherwise indicated, because high folate levels actually *do* cause birth defects and increase risk of cancer and stroke
