It’s so funny when people from Middle America are like “coastal people think they’re so smart, but without our farms, they’d all starve” because coastal states, particularly California, also absolutely mog a lot of them agriculturally too

I think one of middle America’s bigger strengths is the manufacturing industry but even coastal states have great manufacturing industries too

Can’t think of anything off the top of my head that middle America excels at other than great mountains and weather for skiing and hiking

It’s like the caloric base of the entire nation. Without that much wheat and feed for livestock in other places, meat production literally couldn’t happen or at least not on the scale it does. The US could survive without the Midwest but meat and dairy would be practically non existent or just very expensive

So I mean yea the country wouldn’t literally fail but you’d be paying $80 for a filet from Walmart
