By this logic neonazi’s spray painting slurs on someone’s house is nonviolent

I’ve cut down quite a few trees recently who would disagree.

… technically my chainsaw, which I own, does violence. Idk if it IS violence. The trees might know that it is capable of violence, but it’s also really good at keeping papers from flying off the garage table. So it’s not ONLY violence.

The chainsaw itself is simply an object, even possessing one for personal use is not a big deal

The trees beg to differ. 😐

But to be fair there’s a pine beetle infestation so I bet my chainsaw and I are getting mixed reviews among the republic of trees in my area. I’m only cutting down the ones who are dying of the infestation or already dead anyways (with few exceptions) So I’m not entirely sure how I’m viewed as far as the tree popular vote goes.

Seems more like an oligarchy. Big trees taking up the majority of sunlight and water. Little trees competing for what’s left. Nature is unforgiving on short timescales.

Yeah, that’s vandalism and harassment, neither of which is categorized as a violent crime. The hateful nature of the harassment would aggravate the charge, but it still wouldn’t make it a violent crime.
