Stop pretending it’s not just because you’d rather live with a bunch of white people instead of living somewhere actually diverse
Or maybe some people just prefer to live a quieter life and don’t enjoy the lifestyle that comes with living in a city. Why do people have to be so damn judgmental and condescending?

Do you think rural areas can’t have people who aren’t white? Dude I grew up in Virginia, which has a huge rural black population. I then proceeded to move to rural Oregon, where my town has large Native American and Hispanic populations.

Not everywhere is Vermont or upstate New York where “not in a city = white.” My farming town is more ethnically diverse than the closest bigger cities.

It’s also just like intentionally not reading what someone says if the response to “I like living near nature” is an accusation of racism

I feel like a lot of people particularly in like major cities in California and the northeast can be bizarrely classist for people who claim to be leftists. Classism is seemingly fine to them as long as it’s directed at rural regions or the south.

Like the south sucks to live in in a large part due to historic systemic inequality and the exploitative practices of the plantation elite (and coal magnates in the Appalachians). The plantation elite drove racist propaganda so poor white people would be distracted and wouldn’t build cross-racial class solidarity.

I feel like a lot of the north uses the south as a racism scapegoat. They say oh all the racism in America is just in the south and then ignore the massive history of systemic racism in northern states.
