Lots of planes we use are older than the nineties. Our KC135 refuelers are from 1957. We can make it work if we try

This is true and we still maintain and upgrade the ones we have But we don’t have a big use case for F-22s since we have air superiority literally everywhere in the world, except maybe mainland China
