We kinda need to rethink communism if we want a viable alternative to capitalism. While Marx was a good historian, he really wasn’t a great systems designer. There’s a reason that almost all communist states collapse into a feudal power structure after the revolution, and that’s because the dictatorship of the proletariat as Marx described doesn’t rethink the kinds of power structures necessary to actually implement communism as Marx envisioned.

In other words, if you want a true communist society, you have to completely rethink organizational structures and what the dictatorship of the proletariat actually means; it requires a much deeper sociocultural reform than a replacement of the existing economic system.
