Everyone sounded the alarm in 2017 that him getting rid of the JCPOA would lead to war and they were proven right. We had a verification scheme in place and an Iran that was rejoining the global economy. Trump threw that all out and assassinated their top general in 2020 which was there this current hostility started

These people are never going to trust us again and the recent negotiations showed. They now have a stranglehold on the strait that only a full scale invasion can break and Trump will never do that

I agree withdrawing from JCPOA was a mistake, with the important nuance that although it worked in preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, Iran used unfrozen assets to fund terrorism. During that period, Iran supported Hezbollah and Houthi terrorists more than ever before. Again, I still mostly agree we should not have withdrawn from JCPOA, but I’m saying at the beginning of this year, we had few good options. As I understand it, the JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and Trump debated options.
