Do you think breaking the law is required for ice to do their jobs?If these people are guilty then why not give them trials? Why arrest citizens and hold them for days without access to a lawyer if they didn’t actually commit a crime? And what makes you say rounding up and deporting people is better than simply helping them get naturalized?
Wym? There’s countless instances of this happening that you can look up and read about. They grabbed a veteran and held him for like 4 days before releasing him with no charge. They always say it’s something like “interfering with ice operations” but then never press charges bc it’s always a lie
There’s a process to everything, ice could just be slow with processing, it’s like when you go to the hospital you feel like you shouldn’t have to be there as long as you are, but because of the slow process it becomes an absolute stretch. ICE isn’t a racist organization they’re just following procedures to the T to insure our safety before releasing these people back into the public
Please look up the case of George Retes if you get a chance, it might change your view on this. He’s a veteran that was trying to get to work when ice agents broke his car window and pepper sprayed him before throwing him to the ground and kneeling on his neck. He was then arrested (agents refused to look at his ID) and held for 3 days without being allowed to make a phone call or see an attorney. His family didnt know where he was for 3 days.
He was also not allowed to shower at any point throughout the three days despite being covered in pepper spray and tear gas. For two days he was placed in solitary confinement. While this was going on the trump admin said that he had interfered with ice operations even though areal footage proved that to be false. He was ultimately released without charges or an apology.
So youre honestly telling me that this abhorrent treatment of a citizen Iraq war veteran is somehow the unintended result of overworked staff and not disregard for the people ice is going after? That is, brown people? Wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier to simply let him go once they knew he was a citizen? How does placing him in solitary confinement or refusing his right to a phone call fit into your story?
