Simply examining how much more the rich have than others is insufficient. We also need to examine *how* they got rich. Creating wealth via positive-sum market activity is morally good.

And you shouldn’t have an opinion if its not your money and they got it legally

In general, the rich are getting richer, but so is everyone else.

Nonsense, this has nothing to do with greed. Creating wealth for others is good.

You think billionaires create wealth for others? And by others you mean their shareholders, then sure

Once again, it depends on how they became a billionaire. Gary Michelson became a billionaire by inventing nearly 1,000 medical inventions to treat spinal disorders. It would be hard to argue that he didn’t enrich the lives of those who benefited from the technology he created.

Michelson got his billionaire status by selling his patents to Medtronic. I might say that billionaires are the result of an inherently unethical system

And millions of people have benefited from his patents. There is nothing unethical about it.

I’m referring to our system as being unethical

the american poverty rate is at 10-11% and a trillion dollars of wealth that the richest people are using for stocks could be used to get a lot of those people out of poverty, whether through public or private means. but you make a fair point, it depends on the person and how they got to where theyre at. I just think once they cross into “billion” they have a lot of wealth that could be otherwise used to benefit the rest of society
