If one person says the earth is flat, and the other says its round, it being a half-sphere isn’t the correct answer.

Democrats are already neoliberal corporate shills, so if you’re further right than that, then yes leftists are going to disagree with you.

If one person says that all men are evil and should be k*||ed and the other says all black people are disgusting and should be k*||ed, does it make me evil for saying both are wrong?

There’s a difference between the most extreme positions and the mainstream positions. Violent bigotry is much more common on the right than in the left.

Oh right, it’s impossible have political beliefs that aren’t MAGA or whatever version of politics you think you fall into

The problem is in thinking that’s a unique perspective. Most people exist somewhere between the two

I’d even argue you can be a centrist while being left of the democratic party

Well that’s not really an argument, that’s just true. If you’re just left of the Democratic Party, you’re a social democrat, which is centrist. If you’re right of the Democratic Party, you’re not really a centrist.

But the American scale is very fucked so a lot of people who are right of the Dems call themselves centrists

Science is not the same as politics. Politics has a large connection to morality and ethics. People draw many of their political views based often on their sense of right and wrong and personal wants. The reality is there is never going to be an answer everyone agrees with. But some seek to find the common ground as it’ll never work any other way. And believing not strongly in either position.

It’s been at least 5 years since I’ve heard someone reference KAM. What decrepit corner of the internet are you hiding in?

A lot of political positions are based on fundamental disagreements about reality, including science itself. Climate change, evolution, economics, history, vaccination, sociology. For example, Republicans as general party policy fundamentally oppose the science on anthropogenic climate change. My political beliefs are based less on my personal wants, and more on what political positions are based in reality.
