Our stubborn refusal to tax the billionaires is the single most central cause of our civilizational decline. Every other issue and crisis, from housing to climate change, stems very directly from this.

True, but billionaires being able to exist is a symptom of a much larger issue that cannot be solved with just taxes. Capitalism exploits workers, creates vast inequality, and subjugates entire populations. Everything from the dating climate to climate change is caused by capitalism. This is not even mentioning the inevitable periods of crisis due to its inherent, unfixable contradictions.
