It’s called being liberal by circumstance

For example gay people who oppose homophobia and then support transphobia. Or people who are against the racism that impacts them but will be racist against other people. Or the radfem types who don’t actually oppose sexism itself and usually also propagate homophobia and transphobia.

Intersectionality everybody! The point is that these bigoted systems are bad and need to be dismantled. It isn’t anti-sexism to go “girl power” and then dehumanize men. It isn’t anti-racist to only oppose the racism that impacts you personally. And I don’t know what the fuck transphobic gay people think they’re doing.

I think there’s differences between having genital preference or preference in how your partner looks and categorically refusing to date someone who is trans even if they otherwise align with your attractiveness.

And I wouldn’t call it evil or anything, but I’d say if someone categorically avoided all trans people, that’s probably a result of social transphobia that they should examine and try to dismantle.

So the transphobia I was referring to is the “lgb drop the t” types who like actively ally themselves with terfs or right wingers.
