I've been told, on multiple occasions, by multiple MAGAs/right-wingers that I'm the only liberal/leftist they've ever actually respected/understood where I'm coming from. Idk how to feel about this 😭

Probably because they get their perception of leftists from biased media that purposely paints them in a bad light

They tend to say it's bc I obviously genuinely care, and I'm not just following the crowd of 'sheeple'. That I have my own opinions/views that aren't born from empty notions of moral superiority or parroting media sources/social media. But I feel like that's most leftists of the general population? Just not 'left-wing' politicians?

Yeah I'm pretty sure most of them have never actually had a humane conversation with an actual leftist irl I've had lots of talks with lots of MAGAs and they generally fall into a few simple categories (those who proudly don't gaf about anyone but themselves, those who genuinely hate the 'other', and those who are genuinely just stupid, confused, and have no clue as to what's going on) so it's pretty easy to know what to say to them irl

The first and third groups, you can kinda get through to them. It's that second group that you just smile, nod, and slowly back away from while locating all potential weapons in the area 😭😂
