Ngl as turbulent as it was, I really do kinda miss Joe Biden being in office, I think history will treat him kindly

His support for genocide and his unwillingness to step down after one term are going to be major blemishes on his otherwise decent record

Biden will probably be remembered for his inaction on Trump. Leftists will call him adolf 2.0 for the whole Palestine situation but the real stain is trump

I do think it’ll be like a jimmy carter/herbert hoover/harry truman situation. Sometimes presidents don’t have the capability, congressional approval, or rounded approval, but often can still have good policy, bursts of effective/necessary leadership, and a post-term appreciation

it’s the grandpa effect. his soft spoken old person mannerisms and the way he kind of has dementia makes people feel familial towards him i think. he gives off a completely different vibe from trump despite them both being…well…politicians…

In fact, a lot of congressional partisanship that we’ve seen in the last 10-15 years has reflected the same unproductivity of the “do nothing congress.”

100% agreed, especially looking at the failures of Harris’ subsequent campaign largely derived from her lukewarm response to the genocide and support/funding from Israel and related pacs
