So when an army pulls up outside your house and says “Surrender every means you have of defending yourselves and your children or we’re going to break in and start shooting people.” you should just comply? There was no sane reason for the ATF to come in that hot and what the Branch Davidians did in response was just self defense against unhinged state violence.

I’m anti-ice… but saying that Branch Davidians were in the right in anyway is absolutely insane. They dealt in illegal arms, they violated children and regardless how how you think the fire started they are responsible for the lives lost because they treated those children as hostages.

I’m only talking about the initial raid when the ATF was repelled after trying to breach the compound. Every drop of federal blood was on their own heads, not the Branch Davidians’. If they had acted like real law enforcement instead of cosplaying military it would have been a different story.

The children they raped. The children they forced into marriage, the children they burned alive while they took the easy way out?! Those children? Also they never said they were going to come in and start shooting people. They accepted several defectors. There was every reason to come in hot, the branch davidians had a literal arsenal of guns and a history of violence.
