At a Chevron gas station no less, when Trump has admitted repeatedly this war is about Venezuela’s refusal to hand over their oil reserves to American petrol giants lmao

Chevron is the only one with a license from OFAC to do business in Venezuela (there’s a joint venture with PVDSA), so I actually wasn’t sure whether a Chevron gas station was out of the ordinary there

Chevron was the only major producer to agree to continue their operations with PVDSA as the majority owner as required by Chávez. ConocoPhillips and Exxon refused those terms and pulled out. The sanctions on Venezuela’s oil industry now prevent any US company from operating there without permission from OFAC
