I can’t fucking stand hostile architecture, it’s stupid and evil and wrong and proof of a morally rotted society. HOUSE THE HOMELESS and stop treating them like fucking pests!!!! They’re people!!! They deserve food, and water and shelter!!

It depends on the homeless person. The ones tweaking on drugs and going to the bathroom in the middle of the street pose a threat to public health and safety.

Theoretically that can go down with education, universal healthcare, social safety nets so one thing doesn’t make you homeless…

And so you want them to be out and about untreated rather than housed and getting treatment because of why??? Why would someone being on drugs or being in desperate need of mental health care mean you’d prefer they stay homeless and shitting and pissing on the street??? Does someone being an addict or being mentally mean they aren’t a person deserving of basic human rights like water, food and shelter, anymore? I’m just lost on what your goal is here.

So your argument is that by providing welfare services, there will be less mentally ill drug addicts on the street. I agree with you on that. However, that would be a preventative long term goal and doesn’t solve the current homeless crisis we have in this country. I don’t have a problem with homeless people if they are not a danger to society, but many in the larger homeless encampments are. There needs to be proactive intervention to get them well and off the drugs.

I was talking about the part where homeless people are pests when I said it depends on if they are tweaking on the street. Not about whether they should be housed. I hope that clears things up!
