So the thing that makes something racist is attributing this behavior universally to all black people. You can be annoyed at the conduct of a family. You can even attribute that behavior partially to culture. But what makes something racist is attributing this behavior to all black people. Making a whole screed about this is weird af
Like I had an extremely negative experience with a white family in a Lebanese restaurant in Scranton, Pennsylvania after their Saint Patrick’s day parade. They were very loud and rude. But I didn’t make their behavior about all white people. That’d be fuckin weird. I’m white and I’m not like that.
I did not say it had anything to do with all black people. But it did happen to be a damn near wall to wall mayo school with like 3 black families in that gym and there was only one family taking phone calls and being loud. I really don’t believe in stuff like “all black people are loud and disrespectful”. That’s simply not true and as you said there are plenty of whites and others that are just plain rude and disrespectful people. Fine, I guess you’re right. The problem is the culture.
The problem is that there is a dress code for the school of khakis and a collared shirt and there was a marked difference in the way certain people dressed and carried themselves. Nobody else was talking on the phone during speeches. Nobody else came in late and then complained that they almost weren’t let in 30 minutes in. It was very annoying. Ripped jeans and a graphic tee while everyone else is in what most would call “church clothes” was disrespectful on its own.
