I don’t believe in souls and I’m also pro choice….buuuut I do believe that something that could be a person will cease to exist if it is no longer supported by its mother. It’ll just get what we got before we were born. Life’s overrated and whatever, and potential for life doesn’t quantifiably exist, but it still makes me upset to hear people saying abortion is a positive thing, or even that the idea that it should be considered lightly.
Babies themselves are barely conscious relative to other animals too. Like what’s the difference between killing a new born baby and killing a dog with more intelligence and more empathy than one? Since I don’t believe in souls, and I think killing a baby is way worse than killing a dog, I think it’s the potential that makes it important. It’s definitely abstract and intangible but I personally find it important I guess.
