I used ChatGPT when it first came out, and it’s completely different now. The same goes for the other AI models. They can hold natural conversations, generate images, write code, and answer questions with remarkable accuracy. That’s genuinely impressive. If you can’t acknowledge that, you’re just being a hater.

Some of what LLMs can do is genuinely impressive, but they are fundamentally incapable of thought, it’s just statistics and vector algebra under the hood. As for ‘remarkable accuracy’, that’s patently false and they will confidently lie to you. Majority of AI images look like dog shit because, again, these models cannot think, and have no concept of what any of the things they depict actually are.

What do you think thought actually is? Just because it doesn’t think the way humans do doesn’t mean it isn’t intelligent. AI has access to an enormous amount of human knowledge.

It doesn’t access or store knowledge in any way resembling thought. Everything LLMs do is linear algebra, and coordinate representations. LLMs compare the similarity of vectors in extremely high-order spaces to predict what word comes next as it outputs.
