Obviously the people and land have been there for centuries but if you think the current governments are taking into account the ancient ways and customs when governing then idk what to tell you. Modern Greece is not being run based off the traditions of the ancient Greek empire and countries like South Korea for example are the result of artificial borders being drawn after conflict. Same can be said for most of Europe.
