Obama wasn’t an amazing phenomenal president, but I mean… out of all of these options, it’s a no brainer. I think he was a good president despite his flaws. ACA was ok? Repealed DADT and gay marriage legalized nationwide under his pres. Wall Street bailout was bad tho and foreign policy too
People dog on Obama so much. I think they forget what it was like to have a president that didn’t attack the media, respected his political opponents, respected foreign nations and their leaders, worked with the states and local communities, was a down to earth family man, cared about the environment over corporations, etc.
What? That all US presidents are imperialists. Yes I said that and I’ll die on that hill, too. This country was literally founded on genocide. People act so shocked by what Trump did to Venezuela as if we haven’t done similar or identical things to Nicaragua, Libya, Cuba, Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, The Philippines, Iraq, Iran, Guatemala, and I can keep going.
Okay, then I think there was just some confusion but we’re on the same page. I *don’t* think imperialism is okay. I was merely saying that Obama is the most normal president we’ve had out of this lineup. So when people bring up his war crimes, I feel inclined to bring up that every other president has also committed war crimes, save for maybe William Henry Harrison. I absolutely think we should hold the leader of our country to a higher standard. I don’t think the bar should be so damn low.
