How is this different from paying into a universal healthcare system in any way, besides a billionaire not profiting.

When you pay into your insurance, that money goes into one of a number of pools based on your “risk” as a client and what you have covered. If you need healthcare, your bills get paid out of that pool, if you don’t need it, then it’s whatever, better safe than sorry. That’s how it works.

No, you’re paying for their insurance since it doesn’t cover more than what the insurance pays. If you were paying for their healthcare they wouldn’t still get a bill.
