When y’all say shit like “Israel controls our government”, all you guys are doing are oversimplifying a complex issue and conceding to the far-right’s narrative

Why do you let the far right claim it as their idea?

yeah, Israel has an outsized influence in lobbying through a loose coalition of individuals, but the U.S. also does gain strategic benefits in the Middle East and valuable intelligence, we became allies with Israel to prevent socialist influence in the region, Israel is an extension of our attempts at world hegemony

because it is their idea? the idea of a ZOG (Zionist-occupied government) is a white supremacist theory dating back to the 1970s that a secret Zionist cabal secretly controls the U.S. undermining national sovereignty it’s an extension of the tropes seen in Protocols of the Elders of Zion with the idea that Jews are secretly plotting government control for world domination, the pamphlet assigned by Nazi Germany teachers

ZOG is different from believing Israel influences American politics. ZOG is theirs, but I’ve never said that

okay shorter A loose coalition of wealthy individuals contribute to lobbying efforts that give Israeli interests outsized importance in our foreign policy, however outsized influence =/= total control, and the idea of control reflects antisemitic tropes

yeah, influence is different than outright control, I agree that lobbying has allowed Israeli interests to have an oversized representation in our foreign policy, but that is far from “Israel controls the U.S.”

The reality is that Israel controls the US and vice versa because both counties are direct vessels for the same class of billionaires pedophiles that rule the rest of the world to varying degrees. It just so happens that basically all of these men are white christians. The Israel-US relationship just stands out because the rule of capital is more obvious because the behavior of the US re:Israel doesn’t make sense without there being something suspect going on

Because they’re racist, neo nazis immediately jump to a racial conspiracy, even though the interests of money alone are a far more logical explanation for this relationship.

the behavior makes sense when you follow the $$$ and realize Israel helps weapons companies make ABSOLUTE FUCKING BANK selling weapons to them just like most things, it’s a racket for money, and that racket benefits the uber-wealthy nearly entirely while hurting the average person yes

Alright - you’ve done it! You’ve included the nuance within 255 characters! … now add your point. that was the context, right?

Yeah, my point is that “control” is too strong of a word and I think can concede too much to conspiratorial framing, the relationship is mutually beneficial for the wealthy elites in both countries, even if the average citizens aren’t benefitted, as always, it’s about $$$

also my other point is this framing reduces the amount of responsibility has in their relationship and also the hardships we face as citizens it’s easy to point and blame another country for all of our issues rather than reflect on the actual systemic issues and factors that led us to this alliance in the first place

Yes that’s my point. Like everything else it’s just about the billionaires. That said, Israel is an utterly deranged, sick society whose populous largely thirsts for bloodshed all the time. That’s what makes it a great fit. Israel and Israelis want to glass all their neighbors all the time, and defense companies want to supply that.
