I know the data isn’t racist, it’s just data, what I do know however is that you’re racist because you see that data and go “guess blacks are the problem, time to hire more police” rather than “what factors have influenced the rise in gang participation and violence, and how can we address those factors without penalizing the black community, like we did with the war on drugs and started the school-to-prison pipeline”
