Trump has repeatedly shown that he lacks comprehension of simple principles of: Macroecon, Microecon, International Econ, Public Econ, Econometrics/Statistics, and Economic/Financial Institutions. He was an Econ major. He should’ve never gotten a degree.

Macro: fiscal and monetary policy, instead opting for “let’s just lower interest rates whenever I say.” Micro: “drill baby drill” while oil companies are an oligopoly and although supply may increase, so will demand at the lower price (and competition is already high on top of it) International: All things tariffs. That’s it. Public: This one. Cost of human life, positive/negative externalities, etc.

Econometrics/Stat: This one goes beyond the economy and really into any field. It’s especially the case in DHHS with RFK’s antivax agenda. Crime and promoting that undocumented immigrants are all demons and such. Financial Institutions: Everything with the Fed, his credit card interest cap (tbh i support this and capping overdraft fees, he’s just straight horseshoe theorying here), and his 50 year loan idea being so out of touch
