Because it would be politically unfeasible. Americans are freaks about their designer dogs, and any thought about where they actually come from is something they hate doing.

I will say we gotta crack down on the Amish though, my family got my dog from an Amish breeder (before I found out they were awful) and ever since I’ve learned how those “people” feel about animals, I wish I’d just picked him and his siblings up and ran straight to my car
