This is just wrong. Comparing people, people who simply express their opinions (no matter how much you disagree) to Hitler is honestly disgusting. Not because it makes those people seem like they did terrible things, but because it makes the holocaust seem like less of a big deal. Stop equating talk to actions. Charlie debated people. Hitler slaughtered them.
Itās used often because Donald trump, Andrew Tate, Ben Shapiro, and Charlie Kirk and more are influential figures in spreading traditional racism rooted in traditional southern āvaluesā that just so happen to be a bunch of fancy words for the KKKs rhetoric. The word nazi is used so much nowadays, because Neo Nazis are everywhere, nowadays.
This is actually a really good point The political āsouthern strategyā was built in racism, but we traditionally exist in a very hospitable culture (created from our slavery economy). For me, I can be proud of our culture while expelling those bigots from the group or educating them. Conservatives should be more made about white supremacy corrupting their message (unless of course they are attached)
Any murder, hate crime, bullying, or harassment that came from Charlieās spewing of his ideology that advocates for the polarization away from marginalized groups, making that ideology sound reasonable and normal, allowing young kids and adults to then act on behavior they see addressed and presented as acceptable.
I agree with this. Guys he wasnāt perfect and said a lot of controversial things, but not Neo nazi. He DID NOT promote violence. Did you listen to him speak or just read the controversial things he said and get pissed off. Because when you read it, it sounds ridiculous and messed up. When you hear him and then he explains, itās not the same
I tend to agree, the left pulls shit out of context and scrutinizes the words and not the sentiment completely missing the point Iāll say this, Iām familiar with his position on abortions because it caused active rape threats on my campus when he visited of which was not there before. Sure, I hear you, coincident My point is not he caused that, my point is his words, whether he likes it or not have an affect on people. He activate seeks disempowerment, which harms people through policy. ā-
Of course his words have an effect on people, and itās messed up how some take it. But I guess from my standpoint, he wasnāt seeking disempowerment. He was being a citizen with a voice, debating people in a perfectly fine way. He said his opinions and people have the right to take it how they want unfortunately. Nobody is forced to listen to him
He never promoted āChristian fascismā. Leave fascism out of it, and maybe talk about things you are actually educated in thank you very much. You go tell his wife and the Christians in the world that they support hatred, violence, and killing others, we will roll our eyes and laugh. Itās actually the opposite, hence we arenāt out killing people with the guns we own.
I absolutely agree with him being a citizen with a voice and no one having to listen Itās hard to claim he wasnāt activately seeking disempowerment. Even then, if he wasnāt, he still had an affect Iām just a shitty person that puts numbers into a computer for a living, but I recognize me acting recklessly with the power I have surmounted is unethical and Iāll come back to harm me. Shit dude, my voice means nothing, but I still feel bad when I hurt someoneās feelings yk? Gotta take some respo
Listen to any of his speeches or debates, read any of his social media posts. There is a constant underlying if not outright sentiment that white peoples are superior, men are superior, America should be a white Christian theocracy and that anyone not fitting those desires would be second class citizens at best.
But if we all go tiptoeing around so we donāt hurt anyoneās feelings, what would the world be like? We would all be mute.. we have to stand for what we believe right?! It sucks that views are on opposite sides of the spectrum and canāt meet in the middle because it makes it easy to hurt feelings.
You can not be serious in saying being concious (or not conscious) of oneās feelings is the same as taking away their civil rights and human rights. Thatās what Kirk advocated for. Yeah no one likes him bc heās rude and doesnāt care about others but we HATE him bc heās doesnt believe in human rights or the constitution.
Sure man, I see where youāre coming from I want to introduce the concept of āharm vs hurtā hurting someoneās feeling is exactly what youāre describing. My feelings are āhurtā when I am wrong about something. My person is āharmedā when you let me go around looking stupid If youāre a gardener. Itās hurts the plant when you prune it. It harms the plant if pour soda directly into its root system
Because thatās ridiculous and he doesnāt match that definition. He didnāt promote violence or want people dead, as Iāve already said. We arenāt getting anywhere, but the things you think are wrong are indeed wrong, but to call him a nazi and hate him so much isnāt right. He stood for a lot of good, but only I will think that because I am a Christian. Not a Christian fascistš
Okay, so progress can be made here If you believe all that stuff is wrong is wrong good. You should clarify your position on you think itās bad that Charlie said that about the civil rights act Also, again clarification, itās okay to hate Nazis, but your position is you think heās not a nazi Do we agree just because Nazis are bad people. They can still contribute good through some pathways such as the Nazis being heavily invested in science. Despite all of their other awful qualities
AS I HAVE SAID A MILLION FUCKING TIMES. he said the civil rights act was a mistake, heās spewed tons of anti-black rhetoric. he once again called the person who would bail out a white supremacist a fucking hero. does someone have to straight up say āI HATE BLACK PEOPLEā for yall to read the writing on the wall??
I disagree with what he said about the civil rights, yes. But just because he believes that doesnāt make him a nazi. I know a lot of other people think that and Iāve heard why, but donāt really agree. And yes, bad people can contribute good, but some people think someone is completely bad for a couple things they say and disagree with, completely overlooking the good.
once again, thereās a difference between an opinion and a fact. if someone fits the definition of nazi, they are a nazi regardless about whether you PERSONALLY think thatās true or false. it isnāt an opinion, itās an objective observation based on evidence. the evidence is pretty fucking compelling when heās literally saying minorities shouldnāt have civil rights.
Cool beans I agree, just because he held views that Nazis would hold does not make him a nazi. As Iāve said, my position is the average Americans belief system is not too far off from what Nazis already believe, but there are extremely few people in America. You can look at that as America being full of Nazis, or America already having a belief system that aligns itself That being said, he doesnāt have to be a nazi to hold a lot of beliefs a nazi would hold, getting shortened in conversation
