We can acknowledge that the creation of Israel is a process that existing powers would have to contend with. The US has chosen to use Israel as an opportunity to project more power in the region. We can also acknowledge that Israel is its own separate entity with its own interests, and it can benefit from currying favor from the US. It doesn’t mean Israel is literally puppet on a string the US, they do have an outsized influence on US west Asia policy, the US still has its own interests too
on another note, jewish ashkenazi people now racialized as white are as american as all of you. jewishness is not what drives foreign policy. as an arab myself, i can recognize this reactionary drivel (which is also antisemitic - crazy since yall accused my ppl of antisemitism for fighting to survive but it’s you all who are the n4z1s 💀 intou klaab tozz feek lmao).
all of a sudden, all of this is out the window in the exceptionalism narrative: u.s. foreign policy goals to maintain its global hegemony? the 2018 national defense strategy paper & the 2020 assassination of general soleimani on trump's orders? dual containment policy of the 1980s ... great power competition?? you are trying to rehabilitate a genocidal settler colony. you guys are as bad as israelis for engaging in this reformist exceptionalism. amerika is a plague upon the earth—
Yeah I feel like a lot of people incorrectly think America like made Israel or something. It was (sorta) made by the British (I say sorta because Zionists were actively fighting against the British to establish a state in the region). For Israel’s early history it aligned with France. The American alignment was more opportunism than anything.
