Kamala Harris’s entire 2024 campaign strategy was to peel away “Moderate Republicans” from Trump. Leading her to do a bunch of shit that pissed off Progressive Democrats and Left-Leaning Independents, like campaigning with the Cheneys, and making her DNC speech on how lethal she wanted our military. 96% of registered Republicans still voted for Trump.
That group is stupid and will never be on our side. Unless we go pro-gun, which I’d honestly be down for, I think liberals need to start picking up the gun. It’s about that time. But Harris didn’t campaign pro-gun, she campaigned pro-war. Which is an entirely different sub-set of Republicans than the single-issue gun voter. I honestly would’ve praised her if she said “Trump did the bump stock ban and red flag laws, the biggest 2A violations in recent memory” at every chance she got.
Yeah, and nobody wanted to vote for her because she couldn’t decide on a political identity. She wanted to be seen as progressive by the progressives, largely only on the basis of her gender and race, she didn’t really make any leftward gestures, and also wanted to seem tough and militaristic for the moderate conservative. That’s right.
Oh I live in the South buddy, I am well aware of that type, and I’m always sure to tell them that their precious National Rifle Association is behind the strictest gun law in the country, because the NRA’s position is “profits for gun manufacturing must be protected” and NOT “the people’s 2A rights must be protected”
Are you ever gonna explain to me how a historically restrictive gun policy authored by Ronald Reagan, the most important Republican since Lincoln, and the NRA, the largest “pro-gun” political group in America, is somehow irrelevant to a discussion of Republican pro-gun politics? Or is it just gonna be slurs?
