blue state leftists think the problem is the electorate of the red states. red state leftists understand the problem is access to education and the demonization of progressive thought

Just moved from Texas to NoVa and yeah I kinda? Feel that. Since Washington DC is one of the most woke places there is lowkey

tbh makes me hesitant to move out of the south. like it’s fucked down here but it’s home, is it better to stay and try to fix it? or leave to save yourself and have a good chance of being looked down upon wherever you end up

unironically a lot of people in red states are surprisingly progressive, they just don’t want to be labeled as “one of the libs”. that’s it. that’s literally it.

I kinda get it, you have to fight on a very local level for specific things in red states Since outside of Ken Paxton there’s basically no chance of helping a democrat win on a national level. Maybe Beto had a chance but eh

Ken Paxton is really just that awful of a person that bro is losing in fucking Texas where they voter suppress the hell out of anyone that’s not rich or white 😭

As someone who just moved, I like my new area. I do miss that I can’t be an advocate for Texas in NoVA though, I’m just an outsider now. I left Texas to escape, so I can’t be criticizing Texas that much. But I think ultimately you got to look out for yourself, ALSO it’s not 100 outside every day in NoVA

And access to the polls! Voter suppression is the #1 issue I think blue state leftists don’t understand

I think you’re absolutely right on this. If you could poll Texans and Coloradans on progressive policies I think more Texas “republicans” would agree on more progressive policies then CO libs/leftists, it’s a socialization thing

im a freak that likes the heat unfortunately lol its a think line to walk here but sometimes i think being in such red states can offer a bit of a shield to too much scrutiny. our schools aren’t the first ones being looked at to strip away funding

I like the heat too, I didn’t want to move any further north than northern Virginia because I hate the cold …but Texas is a bit much let’s be honest, both Houston’s humidity and the raw dry heat of the rest of the state
