I’ll poke holes in one of those things: Iran’s government will fall before direct conflict with Israel. The regime is deeply hated by its people and is on its last legs.

I hope you’re right, but we can’t afford to be that optimistic. Few things secure popular support for a failing government like an external threat, and the government has been pretty successful at brutally squashing unrest & protests. Not to mention the last year also saw the first actual direct strikes between Iran and Israel
